Parkinson’s In Motion has recently received a generous grant from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels Good Works Program. This grant will help the organization continue to provide vital services to those battling Parkinson’s Disease, with a particular focus on exercise and rehabilitation programs that are crucial for managing symptoms and improving quality of life.
With the funding, Parkinson’s In Motion was able to purchase equipment that will directly benefit individuals with Parkinson’s Disease, including a Sole F63 Treadmill. Pairing this treadmill with a sling and harness, provides a safe and effective way for individuals to engage in physical activity, which plays a critical role in slowing the progression of the disease, improving mobility, and enhancing overall well-being. The treadmill will help create a controlled environment for patients, allowing them to work on their balance, strength, and coordination while minimizing the risk of injury.
Parkinson’s In Motion has been a vital resource for the Eastern Kentucky and Appalachian communities, offering exercise classes, support groups, educational programs, and more. This new equipment will expand their capacity to provide even more personalized care and rehabilitation to those affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
The grant from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels Good Works Program is a testament to the strong community support for those battling Parkinson’s in our region. It highlights the importance of collaboration and the collective effort to improve the lives of individuals facing chronic conditions.
Parkinson’s In Motion’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease is stronger than ever, and this grant will allow them to continue their work, providing critical services and resources to those who need them most.
Let’s continue to support each other and help those affected by Parkinson’s Disease in our communities live their lives to the fullest.
